Law partners, Matt Arnold and J. Bradley Smith both grew up in Charlotte and remain very committed to the Charlotte metro area. Upon deciding to open their own practice, there was no question where the two wanted to establish their law office.

In 2007, Mr. Arnold and Mr. Smith opened their doors to clients as a civil litigation and criminal defense law practice striving to provide outstanding representation to those in the Charlotte metro and surrounding areas. The firm has since experienced phenomenal growth and expansion. The law partners have carefully selected their staff to ensure their values, strong work ethic, and integrity are exemplified throughout the firm.

Arnold & Smith, PLLC takes great pride in its unique Uptown Charlotte location, The Historic John Price Carr House, which was originally built in 1903. In 2008, Mr. Arnold and Mr. Smith formed the Carr Historic Society, LLC which is dedicated to preserving Charlotte’s history. The Carr Historic Society, LLC procured, restored and maintain this historic location.

The Historic John Price Carr House is located at 200 North McDowell Street, Charlotte, NC 28204. The setting not only provides a distinctive “home” to meet with clients and house their staff, but it is also located just two short blocks from the Mecklenburg County Courthouse. This is a convenience for the attorneys and their clients when visiting the Mecklenburg County Courthouse.

When the law partners at Arnold & Smith, PLLC established their law practice, they chose to focus on civil litigation and criminal defense because these two areas of the law often go hand in hand.
