William Shelley

Will Shelley grew up in Cabarrus County and graduated from Jay M. Robinson High School in Concord. He attended Furman University on scholarship and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in History. At Furman, Mr. Shelley served as an officer in the university’s Gilpatrick History Society and as a research assistant for Professor Courtney Tollison, Historian for the Rudolf Anderson Memorial in Greenville, South Carolina.

After working for a Fortune 400 company for several years, he attended law school at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, where he was a member of the Dean’s List and served as Senior Articles Editor of the South Carolina Journal of International Law & Business. Following law school, Mr. Shelley served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul M. Burch of South Carolina’s Fourth Judicial Circuit (Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, and Marlboro Counties), where he gained valuable litigation experience in civil and criminal matters.

Mr. Shelley joined Arnold & Smith, PLLC, in 2021. He focuses his practice on criminal law matters, including DWI/DUI, misdemeanors, and felonies.

When outside the office, Mr. Shelley enjoys attending concerts, exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, and spending time on his family’s farm in Richmond County, North Carolina.
